Mobile Meals is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1971 by concerned women who saw a need for home delivered, hot, nutritious meals. Those who receive our meals are recovering from surgery, disabled, suffering with a disease or illness, homebound or not fully able care for themselves. The food we provide assists those who want to continue living in their home, remain independent and be nutritiously fed. For more about the history of Mobile Meals see the “About Us” page.
We are located in office space graciously provide, at no cost to our program, by Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Washington.
We are funded by recipient donations and the contributions of local organizations and individual donors. Donations may be made directly to Mobile Meals, through Community Foundation of North Central Washington, or on-line using PayPal.
Please visit our “Donor” page for more information.
Who Qualifies for Mobile Meals? Those who are recovering from an illness or surgery, the elderly, the disabled, and the homebound who are not able to fully care for themselves. You may review the complete policy statement regarding recipient criteria by using this link.
Like everyone across the country, and around the world, Mobile Meals is dealing with the COVID-19 outbreak.
We are taking every step to protect our volunteers as well as our recipients. The primary, and most noticeable, change we are making is to implement “no-contact” delivery of meals. This is going to require adjustment in the way our drivers deliver meals and in what meal recipients should do and what they should expect.
This is an unprecedented situation and, while we can’t anticipate the future, we intend to do everything possible so we can continue to safely provide this critical service to those in need.
Finally, if you would like to help, Mobile Meals can always use additional volunteer drivers (see the “Volunteers” tab above), but keep in mind that it can take two weeks or longer to complete requirements for new drivers. Financial support is always needed and may become more important as this experience evolves.
